This day, me and my buddy had to wake up early to make our way to Half Price tickets in the Hawaian Market. Unlike the one near the big Coke Bottle, this half price place opened at 11am. We made our way over there, but not as early as we hoped. The result was us getting there at 11:30am and seeing a long line of people. We decided to stick with this line rather than head to the half price tickets near the big coke bottle which already had a big line anyways. We felt pretty good about us getting tickets to Carrot Top since the line was filled with an older crowd who a lot were trying to get tickets to a Cirque show(no chance of that). Slowly the line moved and right around noon, we were at the front of the line. As we make our way to the counter and ask for two tickets, sure enough, the rep behind the counter said ';I think we%26#39;re sold out.'; Immediately, me and my buddy think ';awwww crap';, but lucky enough, she double checks. Fortunately, she checked with another rep who made a quick call and got us two tickets. So I have to give a big recommendation to Half Price tickets in the Hawaian Market.
With several hours of wait time, we then proceeded to our old stomping grounds, the MGM Grand. I headed to the poker room for some limit action. It took a little bit of time but a table finally started up. Like most limit games, this was a nice relaxing table. One of the guys even wanted everyone to take a shot, which we did. Catching a nice run of cards and I cashed out up an extra $100 which is pretty good for a $2-4 limit game.
We proceeded to walk over to the Luxor to get our tickets for the show. Like I expected, our tickets were second to last row. But the theatre is pretty small so it%26#39;s not that bad. For dinner, we stopped at the Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay. I had the American Kobe beef burger which was very good. While my buddy wanted to head back to the Aladdin for a bit before the show, I decided to stay at the Luxor and gamble a bit. Normally, I%26#39;m not that negative about certain casinos, however i have to say, I will never do any kind of poker at the Luxor ever again. After being burned by their crappy poker tourney on my first trip, this time around I decided just to play a regular cash game(which I%26#39;ve heard is pretty weird with it%26#39;s $50 min/max buyin). While checking out their spread of games, I overhead about one spot left for a sit and go(sit and go is a one table tournament). I%26#39;m a big fan of sit and gos online and wanted to play one while in Vegas(they%26#39;ve been popping up everywhere). Immediately I jumped in to get a seat. The price was $60 buy in, $4 fee to play, $3 addon for dealers. Safe to say, none of us were excited about that. Unknown to me, the starting chips for the SNG is 550 which is just horrid(most start at 1000). This really just screwed me up and I ended up losing. To go along with the 1st and 2nd place prize money, they added some Nick Lachey tickets to the prize pool.
With over an hour before we can sit down, me and buddy just wasted time playing arcade games. 45 minutes before the show started, we took our seats and sat through some snowboarding videos(I take it that Carrot Top is a big snowboarder). Ten minutes prior to the beginning of the show, a reel started of some Sesame Street characters making some vulgar phone calls to one another, and some animals doing it. With the show starting, out came Carrot Top%26#39;s crowd warmer. I forgot the guys name but he wasnt that bad. After about 15 minutes of standup Carrot Top came out. Of course he went through his routine of going through his trunks of props which was pretty damn funny. Then halfway through, he starts up a pretty regular standup routine. After a while, you want to see more props but he was still damn funny without them. Oh and if you go, expect to get wet. Twice in the show, you will either get sprayed in the face with water or be in a mini-rainstorm in the theatre. It was a very funny show and I recommend it for anyone who wants a good comedy show.
Following the show, we went back to the Aladdin to wait for a buddy who was flying in and staying with us for the rest of the trip. An uncomortable moment came when we took a taxi from the Luxor(I had been walking with a blister on my foot all day). The taxi driver said I should sit in the front since I%26#39;m a big guy(already an uncomfortable moment right there). While driving, he kept talking about how we was going to ';take care of us'; if we ';take care of him';. He pressed something on the meter that I guess was going to give us a cheaper ride. He then talked about how he has a son that works at Scores and another that works at Rain at the Palms. Just on and on and on about how he has connections for these cool places and blah blah blah. At the end of the ride, we just wanted to get out of that car and I asked for his card to make him feel better. Meh. Anyways, back to the room we relaxed a bit. Our other buddy called up when he got in and said he would get there soon. We met up with him near the poker room and showed him the room. This was his first time in Vegas so we wanted him to enjoy himself. He%26#39;s a poker buff like myself and I wanted to take him to the big room at the Bellagio but I made him decide, and he said he wanted to play in the best room in Vegas.
Before some poker we got some food at the Zanizbar Cafe at the Aladdin. This is sort of the typical all around 24 hour restraunt. Not the best quality but good food overall. One thing they%26#39;ve been promoting like hell at the Aladdin was the addition of Pink%26#39;s Hot Dogs at Zanzibar Cafe. I had the spicy polish dog and it was damn spicy. I liked it but not really worth the $10+ I spent. While signing him up for a player%26#39;s card, i was talking to him about how you can tell who the hookers are because they%26#39;re playing cheap slot and dressed like they were going to a club. Right after saying this, an obvious hooker just walked on by(she had a dress that barely covered her butt and huge hooker boots).
Poker at the Bellagio was an eye-opening experience. I told my buddy that we%26#39;ll play but if he wants to sit at a NL game, he needs to sit down with about $500, but I knew that was most of his poker money. Reluctantly, he joined me a $4-8 limit table and sat with $200. I couldnt get much going but my buddy had a great pot catching a set of 9s then getting running cards to get him the straight flush. Funny thing was the guy who was in the pot with my buddy was just livid about the running cards. He knew he was beat and he was telling his friend something in whatever language about how the hand went and I%26#39;m sure he said something bad about the dealer. The table next to us, which was $8-16 limit table, had to break and two of the guys went to our table. One guy had $1000 in front of him and my buddy immediately wanted to take off worried about that big stack. Before leaving, I was in a pot with this guy and he kept raising and I kept calling realizing he didnt have anything and winning a nice pot putting me close to even.
My poker buddy and I went to the poker room at the Aladdin and played a bit there. I was simply not getting any cards but was being highly entertained by a drunk Aussie at the table. After two hours of playing, I was done over $100 and falling asleep at the table. I left my buddy and told him to call me up when he makes his way to the room. While I left at 5am, he made hi way to the room at 6am. With that, we went to sleep knowing that we had to beat up in a few hours for a midday poker tourney.

Trip Report Day 3 - Carrot Top...need i say more?
TheO.G Enjoying your slant on Vegas, since it is nothing like my usual trip, but sounds very fun nonetheless.
cooper1, tickets were about $33 a piece at the half price tickets place. Just a great price for some good comedy.
Great report! It sounds like Carrot Top may have changed his show up some since we were there in May - no fear of getting wet then. Thinking of going again next week (my Mom wants to see it) if the show has changed enough.
Yes, thanks for taking the time to write all of your installments. I%26#39;ve enjoyed reading!! Great report.
