Thank You!

Go to a site like Expedia.com and put in your dates. They give you nice side by side comparision of prices. You need to check AT LEAST once a day. The rates change all the time. There are a couple of local Vegas rental companies. They will show up as the cheapest, but I do NOT recommend them. Long lines, junky cars, and attitude of the workers.

What ever you do- do not rent from Budget Rental Car on the strip. I recently had the misfortune of doing this and it was bad, bad, bad. First of all I booked over the phone and was given a price. This of course was not the price when I went to pick up the car. Then when I returned the car, they overcharged me, admitted it, and then refused to fix it. The horrible employee then swore at my husband and I, threatened us, and then kicked us out never charging us the appropriate ammount. Besides it is a seedy little storefront shared with three other seedy businesses.

I recently learned thru this website that Southwest Airlines has a great site for comparing car rental prices. You don%26#39;t need to book your flight thru Southwest to use the site. Just plug in your dates at southwest.com.

Where was the Budget rental at on the strip? I have a reservation at the one in the Flamingo and hope I do not have any problems.

Momma,

You can decrease your chances of having a problem with them changing the price on you by having a written confirmation. If you book online you should be able to print your confirmation. If you book over the phone have them E mail a confirmation to you.

Not to diminish or question the negative experience that one individual had, but just because one person had a problem does not mean everyone will.

If you receive a quote before taxes understand that the taxes and charges will add about 50% to your bill. That could obviously be a very unpleasant surprise.

I also always use the Southwest site becasue they make it easy to compare prices. Almost without fail the rates from Dollar and Thrifty are the lowest. I do book thru SW because I then get reward points which do add up.

I kept checking rates before our Oct trip -when I had originally booked our trip it was for 5 days- the rates were good but came down twice so I rebooked each time. When I changed our trip to 6 days-also flying SW because there is no charge to change flights- my rental rate went up alot more than just one day%26#39;s rate- seems it automatically went to a week%26#39;s rate istead of daily rate- and the overall rates increased. Not much I could do- I kept checking but they only kept going up- so my price of $132 including all taxes and fees wasn%26#39;t that bad.

When we actually did the rental and returned it on the 6th day we were pleasantly surprised that our total bill came out to only $107- seems we got a daily rate and for some reason even that came down- I ended up paying less for the 6 days than for our original 5 days.

Dollar is fine to use- good luck. Jan

Oh- by the way I never found the rates cheaper on travel sites like Expedia-
