American Adventure Tours ATV tour

I couldn%26#39;t find anywhere to put this review so I thought I%26#39;d throw it in the forums. Anyhow, I did the Hidden Valley Primm EXTREME ATV tour with American Adventure Tours at the end of October. Tour info below:

This was one of the highlights of my trip. It is recommended that you have previous experience on an ATV for this tour. Generally I say this is accurate. Although, it isn%26#39;t a terribly difficult ride that you%26#39;d probably be able to make it through should it prove too challenging, you could end up slowing the entire group down. So if you haven%26#39;t been on at ATV before at least be confident that you will be able to pick it up fast. had never been on an ATV before but I have ridden sports bikes before, mountain bike, and generally pick things up pretty quick.

We actually had a guy that was rather slow in our group of four but he rode consistently enough where we didn%26#39;t have to stop and wait for him. Plus we could just push ahead and go balls out in spurts and just keep him and his friend in sight.

The ATV%26#39;s aren%26#39;t exactly powerful . . . actually they have very little torque and are kind of gutless but they are powerful enough to have fun on them.

If you are going in the fall or winter, make sure to wear pants and a longsleeve shirt. It may be warm out but once you get going it can be kind of chilly with all the headwind. This is esspecially true riding the 1/2 mile on the road to the start of the trail and over the dry lake bed.

Oh, and ask for Mike if you can and he%26#39;s still guiding tours. He%26#39;s a cool guy and has a lot of great stories. If he tells one about a dumba** that dumped the bike doing a powerslide about 50 feet from the trailer at the end of the tour . . . that%26#39;s me :-)

Thanks for the post. My husband nd I actually did this tour back in May. Well, we opted to just go by ourselves and explore in the desert for like 3 hrs instead of going with a group. We had a blast and now thnk of Vegas in an entirely diff. way. Next May we are recruiting some other family members to go with us. Your review was very helpful.
