First time to vegas

Hi!!

Going to vegas for the first time at the end of november looking for any hotel advice? num of a nice room? or kind of room to ask for??

Any any other hints/tips for first timers.......Any ideas to suprise my partner with.............

We are in our early 20%26#39;s, I%26#39;ve already booked tickets for ';O';

First time to vegas

Hotel choices in declining order of combined price and preference;

Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian,MGM Signature, Mirage, Paris, Mandalay Bay,Caesaars, MGM, TI,Aladdin, Luxor,NYNY, MonteCarlo,Ballys,Rio (1 km off strip), Harrahs,Flamingo remodeled rooms,

Do not go off the above list. Specifically avoid Hooters, Excalibur, Imp Palace, Riviera, Sahara, Circus

If you must have a cheapie in 3rd tier, chose Gold Coast or Stratosphere

First time to vegas

Lots of people from the UK stay at the Luxor. When we got married last year family and friends all stayed at the Luxor and really enjoyed it. As a 1st timer I would reccommend staying on the strip and this hotel would be perfect for you.

Luxor is a great choice for first trip...moderate price, and fantastic looking.

Some complain that some of the rooms are in need of refurb, but my pyramid room was nice, (and actually had a bathroom fan)

You don%26#39;t say what nights of the week your stay in Vegas is and how much roughly you%26#39;re looking to spend. Avoid Friday and Saturday nights if at all possible as hotel rates are much much higher then.

The Luxor is a nice hotel but for a first trip to Vegas I%26#39;d recommend staying nearer Center Strip. For similar rates to Luxor look at Flamingo or Barbary Coast.

Paris, Luxor, Monte Carlo, all make good first impressions for Vegas without breaking the bank. You say you are in your early twenties....the happening place right now is the Palms. It%26#39;s across the freeway from the strip, you would need taxi or shuttle bus to the strip, and I have no idea about room pricing...but you must at least stop in there while you are here if you don%26#39;t get a room there.

Stayed at the Sahara. Great for the price: clean and personnel friendly. Standard room. What else do you need? It%26#39;s at the end of the strip so you will need to take either the monorail or strip bus to the center of the strip. Not a problem.

Our first time in Vegas we booked Ceasars and I have to say we wasted our money -we only spent hours in our hotel room - basically changing and sleeping and the rest of the time we were out on the strip and exploring other Hotels - last new year we stayed at the Excalibar and that was very good - lovely rooms and lifts always available - often a comment about some hotels that the lift is slow - but again we spent no time in the room- the buffet was good in there too

When we went to book for next May - basically we got the cheapest deal we could for a stip hotel and we are at the Imperial Palace - we will use it like we have previously and get changed and go out - as long as it is comfy.

Hi

First time we went to Vegas from uk we stayed at the Mone Carlo.

We arrived after dark by taxi from the airport and we couldnt take it all in, it was fantastic!

The booking hall at the Monte Carlo is vast with luxurious fitting everywhere, in the UK the nearest hotel like that would cost you LOADS of money. But all the big hotels in Vegas are good such as MGM Venitian etc.

Be careful when you book to make sure you are not next to or even in the middle of a construction site as the Monte Carlo has had some bad reviews recently with the building work going on next to it at the moment.

As for rooms to ask for, if your budget allows get a strip view as you will certainly enjoy it, don%26#39;t forget to ask for high up for a better view and near elevator because the hallways in some hotels go on and on for miles!

Oh, forgot we are 40something couple - when walking round other hotels I would avoid Circus Circus as it seemed full of kids - and also the statsophere as that seemed such a horrible area and a long way off the strip - but each to their own and it depends what you want the room for - will you be spending all day in it?

Where have you booked your show tickets - I would like to suprise hubby with some - we fancy a flight to the canyon but we are rather rationed with his size!!

First time.... stay at a good location, mid-range hotel... you can always see the sights and get a feel for which place you want to stay at with your next visit. You will naturally enjoy or be more in awe of certain places and it will be a nice treat for a future visit. My first trip, I stayed at Bally%26#39;s at Center Strip... it was perfect for me. I then wanted to treat myself to Bellagio, so that was next. I did a night downtown at Golden Nugget, and when I wanted to try a fun theme, I went with New York, New York. Now I just look for nice deals, or places I haven%26#39;t yet stayed that seem at least reasonably nice. My suggestion: Bally%26#39;s
