Working Out when on vacation

So, in your opinion, what%26#39;s the best way to get my cardio in while in Las Vegas. Has anyone used their hotel%26#39;s fitness room? Is there a fee? I%26#39;m all about walking, but my mom can%26#39;t go TOO far on foot. So I feel schlumpy and dumpy by week%26#39;s end!!

Working Out when on vacation

I find most places have outrageous fees for fitness room use. It should just be included. When are you going, is it pool weather?

Some fitness rooms are combined with the Spa and if you have a Spa service you do get access to all spa and fitness facilities for the day of that service.

I try to get some in it as clears out the kinks in the muscles. I also swear by the Oxygen Bar on Fremont Street to clear away the cobwebs of the night before. $6.00 or $7.00 for repeat customers.

Where to do the excersie depends on where you are and when, the pool was mentioned. There are fitness rooms in a lot of hotels some are included and some you pay extra for. I use it if it is included.

The Strip is not set up for speed walking rather the sidewak will meander you from casino to casino.

It is extreme but the mile or so between the Strat and Downtown is a part of town that is best handled by walking or running just as fast as you can. Just kidding.

On a serious note, there are city parks and such which should actually have such facilities..

I%26#39;ll be there in Dec and Feb, so no, no pool :-(

Easy one- go dancing!

If you are a morning person, then definitely do speedwalking or jogging on the strip in the morning. It%26#39;s a wonderful way to see some of the sights without the crowds and the strip is almost deserted at 9:00 am. If you don%26#39;t want to be outside for walking, then you could do walking ';laps'; inside the Forum Shops at Caesars, Fashion Show Mall, or the Canal Shops at the Venetian (again all before the stores open so that you don%26#39;t have to dodge the people).

I wonder what security would say about jogging through the place?

It costs a fortune to use the exercise equipment, and I just am not willing to do that unless I am getting a spa treatment, which I have never done. For example, Bally%26#39;s was something like $80 per day. So, if you really need to have some exercise to feel good, leave your mom with a cup of coffee or at a slot machine of her choice, and do some power walking on the strip, that isn%26#39;t sight seeing. That would be inexpensive.

Exercise on vacation? Ha Ha ha ha LMAO

that%26#39;s a good one. Thanks for the laugh. Has anybody seen my donut?

The facility fees for the hotels are NOT that expensive. If you just want to use the exercise equipment, shower, steam room, and sauna, then the average price is $25. You don%26#39;t even have to be a guest of that hotel to use the spa for those purposes. If you get a spa service (massage, facial, etc) then the facility fee is waived. They are usually very well-appointed (towels, bath products, bottled water and juce). The new WET spa at TI is very nice- and its only $20 to use their spa facilities. Even though I live here now, sometimes I go to the hotel spas for a change of pace and scenary.

Dramaqueen, you%26#39;re funny! :-)

Believe me, if I didn%26#39;t have to, I wouldn%26#39;t. But I am now an exercise addict. The two suggestions about walking thru the forums or something similar are good ideas!
