Need advice on the buffet in MGM. Did a couple of searches but can%26#39;t seem to find anything good or bad? We have $25 credit to use at MGM (not emerils or Joel robisomething) and are wondering what the buffet is like there. Thanks for any insight

MGM grand buffet
Average at best. Plenty of good places in the MGM to eat. Emerils being one of the best. Or go to Wolfgang Pucks if the $25 can be used there. There%26#39;s also a little cafe on the studio walk on the right hand side just off the Casino floor. Use the $25 for breakfast there.

I%26#39;ve eaten at the MGM buffet a couple of times, although only dinner. It%26#39;s not bad, but overpriced IMO. They had a good stuffed crab thingy that I liked and many choices if I remember right.
The Chinese restaurant there (the name escapes me) is good; if you like chinese you might try that. The cafe is ok, also overpriced and is usually very busy.
I always try and remember that I%26#39;m not cooking or cleaning up and that help!
I used to be all about the buffets, but when you consider that at a buffet you have to get up and weave through all of the very rude and obnoxious people...................
versus a restaraunt experience where a professional server and ambience and much better prepared food.............
well I guess that%26#39;s info for another thread..
at any rate, the MGM dinner buffet has pretty good food. their prime rib is the bomb, and they have some other really good options, a nice variety, and their deserts are pretty good too.
I can only vouch for breakfast, and I%26#39;d give it a grade of B+. Nothing flashy and spectacular, but good. I was there last month for one breakfast, and the service was good. I like a buffet that serves smoked salmon, and they do. Due to health issues, I can%26#39;t have too many pancakes and bacon anymore =(
Good point Strip. JustDucky, I%26#39;ve never had the breakfast buffet there, just the dinner. I%26#39;ve always done the little cafe for breakfast.
Sorry you can%26#39;t enjoy bacon anymore Strip. The smell alone gets my juices going.....(okay, let%26#39;s stop right there...lol)
Me and my buddy enjoyed the buffet. It%26#39;s not as fancy as some other buffets but they had some great spare ribs there. Everything else is pretty pricey.
Everything in moderation! I just have to watch my fat and sugar intake due to diabetes. I sneek a piece or two, but no more gluttonous (sp?) food orgies. I have everything under control now, and I don%26#39;t want to mess it up. Besides, I could probably eat smoked salmon more often than pancakes and still not tire of it. That%26#39;s one of the few ';healthy'; foods I can pig out on, and fortunately I%26#39;ve been able to find buffets that feature it.
Thanks for all the replys. Sounds like it is a fair place to go. Nothing really bad said and we are not looking for anything fancy. With the food credit just looking for something edible and we are not picky eaters to begin with.

I went to the MGM buffet last week and I was with a big group of people. Not one person had a bad thing to say. They have a mashed potato bar that is to die for, and I find a good selection of everything else. We went nice and early and it felt like we had the buffet to ourselves. I think with buffets you have to plan to go early to beat the rush. Anyhow, I%26#39;m not sure how you can be disappointed with it, I%26#39;d give it a try.
I think the Chinese place someone mentioned is called The Grand Wok and has very good food, if you like that cuisine.
