Venezia or Venetian Suite.......

Hey folks,

Considering staying at Venetian and I am trying to get opinions on differences between Venezia and Venetian standard rooms.........called suites on there website. I have looked on website and pictures, etc but I really cannot see much of a difference! Any thoughts including which rooms nicer, have been refurbished sooner, etc, etc would be very grateful.

I stayed in a Venezia suite in 2004, it was nice but nothing special, fairly big and obviously newer than the other rooms but I cant say exactly what the other rooms are like as I havent been in one.

Since staying at the wynn also last year, even the standard room at the wynn is nicer and classier than the venetian

The Venezia ';Suites'; (just big rooms with a sunken TV area) are newer and further away from the rest of the property and a bit more awkward to get to. I honestly I don%26#39;t recall any major differences between the rooms in either tower, but it%26#39;s been a couple of years since I last stayed there.

website says that venezia suites get a %26#39;separate entrance/check in%26#39; - wuppy dooo :)

I think i will probably go for Venetian suite if I stay there then.......unless someone tells me they are falling apart, lol.

The rooms are about the same size I like the Venezia better because of the better bathroom - had the mist shower. Not that much a difference oveall though except that Venezia rooms are newer etc. . I did like the elegance of the Venezia areas - the private check in / registration desk area and the small separate pool. It is very quiet.

If the price is the same or within a few dollars take the Venezia.

We chose Venezia over Venetian b/c we needed two beds (the Bella Suite) and the Venezia Bella was less expensive than the Venetian Bella... go figure!

from what I gather, primary difference is newer tower and rooms, and a seperate check-in area which alleviates the long lines at check-in. You also have access to the Venezia pool garden which is, from what I hear, in the shade most of the day. The Venezia tower is pretty new (2003) versus the Venetian which opened in 1999.

The Venetian advertises the Venezia as ';a hotel within a hotel'; but I%26#39;m not sure it%26#39;s worth paying a lot extra for. As I said before, we chose it because we could get 2 queens for less expensive in Venezia.

We check-in on Sunday and I will report back after we return!

We like the original tower...It is a long walk to the Venezia...and the rooms are about the same...I hear from my friends that it is not worth it...We get two queens and the couch bed in the original tower..and It is clean and beautiful..you will love the bathtub...and the shower..the toilet is behind another door. They take good care of all the rooms, You will love the Venetian...Now ...was that a nice answer?

Laura - thanks for that.........good info as it would be 2 queen beds we would need - I was under the impression that we could get 2 queen beds in the %26#39;standard%26#39; room at Venetian.........but now not so sure!?

hmmmmm....Yes you can get two queens and couchbed in the standard room. A-...well ok! Do go to the Grande Lux cafe for meals. Breakfast is wonderful. You will not believe the menu. You can print boarding passes for your flights in the business office. La Scena is a great place for a few drinks and great bands..old school. Try and play at the vp bar and get your drinks comped..or they are very expensive! Walk over to Harrahs at night and see the dealertainers..very fun. TI has a great Steakhouse across the steet if you cannot get into a nice place at Venetian. Leave a nice tip for housekeeping..and they will be nice to you! Tip the cocktail ladies well the first time and they will find you..If you drink?...Slotto = }

You can get it in either tower, but with the special we booked, it was cheaper in Venezia. ($149 vs $169). I know most Vegas hotels have no price difference between their standard rooms with one or two beds, but for some reason the Bella Suites (ones with two beds) cost more than their regular suites (with one king). Since it%26#39;s my mother and I, we decided to go ahead and book the Bella instead of booking the regular suite and taking a chance trying to get a Bella upgrade upon check-in.

Slotto - great post man, thanks! Appreciate all that advice..........to be honest with ya I wanna stay at Wynn and my wife Venetian - we have 8 nights so I feel a compromise coming on, ie - 4 days in each :)

As for tipping and whether i drink - do pigs fly?! I an British so of course I drink...........although my main drink comes courtesy of those folks in Tennessee :)

While on subject of tipping, how much do you leave for housekeepin everyday??
