Smoking to be banned in Nevada

The new law stops smoking in restaurants in all of Nevada including Las Vegas. The casinos are exempt, but it is just a matter of time before smoking is banned there as well. It is harmful to the staff, and cancer rates are much higher among casino workers in Nevada.

Its not a health issue, it is a rights and choice issue. Workers and customers are fully aware smoking is allowed and make their own free choice to enter or not. Government and the public have no right to dictate what a private buisness will allow or not.

I am not a smoker, but this is getrting crazy. Certainly there should be limits on public places where the public has no choice to enter like government buildings, doctor offices, etc, but a private buisness should allow to choose their own policy, not be dictated. IF a private buisness chooses to allow smoking, so be it. Enter or work there at your own risk, just like driving.

You Go Vegashomeboy! I totally agree with you; I am a non-smoker %26amp; think the laws are ridiculous; The powers that be in Australia are going down the US road %26amp; it is putting so many people out of work;

Belmont, California is in the process of banning smoking in ALL places within the city - that includes inside your car, in your own condo and anywhere outdoors. The only place you will be allowed to smoke is inside your a single family detached dwelling.

I hope more laws like Belmont%26#39;s are passed. As a California resident (where these laws started) non-smoker I should not have to be subjected to this cancer causing habit ANYWHERE. It%26#39;s not about %26#39;choice%26#39;, it%26#39;s about health and life. My health overrides your %26#39;choice%26#39; EVERYDAY.

BTW, Nevada is getting these kinds of laws because so many former California residents are moving there and changing its politics forever.

One of the reasons Vegas is unique is because its not like anywhere else, including California. If you don%26#39;t like people smoking near you then stay in the Californian Fascist Republic and have fun there.

I agree with Cattalian - its a health issue first............the most important factor is that non-smokers are not subjected to %26#39;cancer smoke%26#39; from smokers - its just not fair! I have no problem with smokers and there willingness to take the risks associated with smoking, but feel it completely unfair that these risks are then pushed onto non smokers without our consent............

You consented to walk into the bar or casino,the choice is yours.

I have the right to go where ever i want in the United States. But others don%26#39;t have the right to ';harm'; me in any place. Smoking harms me.

This is the kind of law that Nevada, the city of Las Vegas and unincorporated areas of Clark County such as ';Winchester'; and ';Paradise'; (strip areas) need. Hopefully, it will spread nationwide. For that fact worldwide as they%26#39;ve banned smoking in Ireland and London, too.
