Hi! We are staying at the Rio, first week of December and need advice on getting a nice room with a nice view. I understand some rooms have been updated and others have not. And is one location or floor better than others. If you have stayed there, any advice on getting a great room would be appreciated!
Rio rooms? Nice?
All the rooms are the same, and nice. The old decor is actually nicer than the new decor, it makes the room seem even larger
You will have a very nice room no matter what...go across the street to the liquor shop in Gold Coast to stock your rio refrig. with good prices on beer/wine/liq
The checkin clerk wil be in charge of what view you get. Be low-key, likeable, and ask briefly and nicely, once, for a good view
be easy to check in, have ID, credit cards, res. info readily available
Rio rooms? Nice?
Stayed at the RIO in may and was very pleased with the overall experience , lovely comfy room big couch , fridge , window in bath overlooking into the room and out of the full length windows. We had a room on the 16th floor of the masquerade tower , with a view of the pools and the back of the strip. Plenty of dinning and lounging options ,fun casino , quick shuttle to the strip and great pool area. You will deffinatley enjoy , we stayed on the 16th floor overlooking the pool ,so please ask for a high pool view.
I stayed at the Rio in April and had a view of the pool (20something floor – Masquerade Tower), and stayed again more recently in October and had a view of the AC/venting system (3rd floor – Ipanema Tower). I think you can guess which view I preferred ;) . Anyway, I’m not sure if this applies to all the rooms in each tower, but the room I had in the Ipanema Tower was recently updated, but it was a tad bit smaller than the room I had in the Masquerade Tower. It really wasn’t a big deal, just something to mention. My room in the Masquerade Tower wasn’t new, but it wasn’t nasty by any means – just a bit older. I really enjoy the hotel and would definitely stay there again. Having a refrigerator in the room is such a bonus.
I think getting a great room depends on which day you check-in, although I could be wrong. I think if you get in late on a Friday or Saturday night you may end up with a room in an undesirable location. Although, all the rooms are the same (other than their mega suites for the high rollers) so you can%26#39;t lose. Just be nice and use your charm :)
The rooms at Rio, by and large, are very nice. As other posters have pointed out, the Ipanema Tower rooms are the ones they show in the photos, but the Masquerade Tower rooms are just as popular with some travelers. If you want a good view, ask for a higher floor. You could also ask if they have any corner rooms available as this would give you two views instead of one.
