Opinons on Bally's from those who have stayed

We are looking at going in early April and have found Bally%26#39;s to have a decent total price. Can someone give me the rundown on the rooms in the hotel? I saw they are 450 square feet, but are they nice? How about bathrooms/mirrors, etc?? We usually stay at MGM and like it a lot, will we be disappointed with Bally%26#39;s? We are going for a week so we don%26#39;t want to pick somewhere crummy. Thanks!

Opinons on Bally's from those who have stayed

Melmen,

I just came back from there. Be sure to request a room in the north tower. I was upgraded to a suite using the $20 trick and it was fantastic but if you%26#39;re just looking for a regular room, request that tower early. You won%26#39;t be spending that much time in there to begin with but Ballys location is great.

Opinons on Bally's from those who have stayed

I stayed at Bally%26#39;s my first time there and didn%26#39;t have any idea the difference between the North and South Tower... the pictures on the website of standard rooms are from the North Tower. About four years ago I stayed in the South Tower, because I asked for a view of the strip. I got a really nice view, and loved the size of the room. The bathroom was spacious and really well lit. There was a long hallway area with floor to ceiling mirror for getting ready. Overall, I loved it there.

When I stayed, it was my first trip to Vegas and we had a good view, so I might have my review all rolled up with my general love of the city and the whole thing. However, some things I did like were the ease at which you can maneuver your way around. If you ARE in the south tower, when you get to the casino floor from your elevator, you are right there, but if you want to go to the pool you have a bit of a trek, through the casino, through the shopping areas, past the spa, and finally to the pool The pool is quite nice, with never a problem finding a chair. The drink service is terrific, and we just had a lot of fun there.

I kinda liked the Paris and Bally%26#39;s connection.... you could easily wander back and forth between those two, maybe incorporating Aladdin in, and not have the need to go everywhere else (if you wanted).

I say, give it a try..and if you for sure want an updated room, ask for North Tower. If you want a view, you might try South.

I%26#39;ve stayed at Bally%26#39;s everytime I%26#39;ve gone to Vegas, once or twice a year since 1997. We have never been disappointed. I think it all depends on what you are looking for. Yes, the rooms are nice and big. The bathroom lighting and mirrors are more than adequate. The rooms are clean and bright. Since I have never stayed anywhere else I can not comment on Bally%26#39;s rooms v. MGM%26#39;s rooms. I would not say it is ';crummy';.

As others have already stated the rooms in the North Tower were recently renovated so they are newer but may be lacking a view. If you want/need a view of the strip and the fountains, generally speaking you will be in the South Tower (I understand there may be a few rooms in the North Tower with a view but it would be further back from the strip). South Tower rooms are big and clean, but the furnishings are old.

If you plan to go to the pool, your best bet would be to stay in the North Tower and take the elevator to the bottom floor. If you are in the South Tower you%26#39;ll have to walk through the casino or lobby area to get to and from the pool.

Speaking of the pool - that is what it is - a pool. No lazy river, no waterfalls, etc. It does have a deep end and I do recall a big hot tub.

The things we like about Bally%26#39;s:

*location - good home base mid-strip.

*size of the casino (smaller - you don%26#39;t get lost)

*less ';crazy'; - not a bunch of drunk 21-year-olds waiting to get into the latest meat-market type club.

*connected to Paris

*no theme

*not many (if any) kids running around

*reservation desk for Dollar rent a car

*monorail stop

*jacuzzi room (had that twice)

*offers with Total Rewards card.

I would like to try a new place someday but the price and location keep us coming back.

I have stayed at Bally%26#39;s 3 times and love it there. I have only stayed in a notth tower room. There is no strip view available in a north tower room but they are newer than the other tower. The bathrooms are all marble and have a hairdryer, make up mirror and a floor to ceiling mirror, tub and shower. The rooms have a closet with safe(fee), a sitting table with chair, bed, nightstands, bench at end of bed, armoir with drawers, love seat and coffee table, office desk with office chair and reg chair. With all that furniture there is still loads of room. Rooms never seem to be too far from the elevators and there are 6 of them so there is never a wait. This is a smaller hotel with a smaller casino so it is easy to get around and is joined to Paris by great little shops and cafes/buffets etc. It is set back from the strip a bit but is easily accesable by moving sidewalks and escelators. Can also use airport check in.

We%26#39;ve stayed at Bally%26#39;s many times. It is a very good clean hotel for the money that you spend.

Staff is friendly and there%26#39;s security to go up to the elevators. You have to show your key to be able to access an elevator.

We%26#39;ve also stayed at MGM a couple of times. I feel the rooms at bally%26#39;s are much better.

Mgm%26#39;s rooms are kind of plain. Bally%26#39;s are bigger and just nicer imo.

Bally%26#39;s is also part of Paris so you get two hotel accomodations for one price.

One question first. Two hotel accommodations for one price?? What exactly do you mean by that?

I guess the questions are:

a)Do we want newer room or better view? (south vs north tower)

b) Do we want Paris or Bally%26#39;s. Has anyone stayed at both?

We are not overly concerned about the casino, just the quality of the room and the pool maybe? (If it%26#39;s even pool weather).

Sounds like everyone likes Bally%26#39;s so far, keep it coming! Thanks for the input!

I%26#39;ve stayed at both Paris and Bally%26#39;s. Paris has smaller rooms but nicer beds, bedding and amenities.

We have stayed in many hotels on the strip including MGM and Bally%26#39;s is one of our favorites. We will be staying there again in about 4 weeks.

Compared to MGM, I think the rooms at Bally%26#39;s are bigger (though we haven%26#39;t stayed at MGM for about 5-6 years). The bathrooms are twice the size and the rest of the room is very big also. They do not have a theme which is just fine with us. It also does not take 20 mins. to walk back to your room as it seemed to take us in MGM. (especially after having a couple drinks). For us, Bally%26#39;s can%26#39;t be beat because of location, price and the room you do get for your money.

Stay next door at the Paris. Owned by the same company and comparable pricing. A lot nicer I think....

Just got back from Vegas and stayed at Bally%26#39;s the first night and off-strip at the Orleans the second two nights.

The room at Bally%26#39;s was VERY big compared to the Orleans. Plenty of space to relax. Only bad thing was the shower head SUCKED.

South tower room with strip view. Excellent center strip location. Friendly casino. I would go back to Bally%26#39;s and never go back to the Orleans.
