Help! Booked hotel, how can I get the best room?

I%26#39;ve heard so much about asking the front desk for ';this floor';, tipping for an upgraded room, and generally, what questions do I ask, so I don%26#39;t end up dissappointed? And should I request all this on the phone before checking in? Hard to know if you haven%26#39;t been.

Silly, I know, but one time we stayed at a hotel that had a shower, but the ad said soaker tub. I felt ripped off. Any advice for this first time traveller to Vegas, would be appreciated! Thanks

In order to get any useful information you%26#39;ll want to let us know what hotel and, ideally, what type of room you booked.

I won%26#39;t ask for details because it doesn%26#39;t sound like your room reservation misadventure didn%26#39;t happen in Vegas, but I have to say that I would have gone back to the front desk to request the correct room or a refund if I had actually paid for a room with a soaker tub and foudn that my assigned room only had a shower. Most hotels would want to satisfy their customer in some way, if at all possible.

Teresakc here, sorry about that , we%26#39;re at the Orleans. Or did I just open a can of worms, lol.

You get what you pay for at the Orleans.

Request ahead of time a room on 19th floor facing the East.

Good View.
