So, I%26#39;m preparing for my 1st trip to LV on Sunday, and I have a bizzare question.
When you are laying bets down at the Craps table, how on earth do you keep track of what%26#39;s yours? It seems to me that on Roulette, all players are color coded, but I have not seen anything like that at Craps.
I just don%26#39;t want to lay down $50 or $100 on a pass line bet, only to lose it because I did something wrong. Is it all the dealer%26#39;s responsibility??
Any help??
Thanks!

Maybe a strange Craps question...
they will place your chips in the spot on each betting area - you will always know what is yours. do watch the table carfully, especially when busy. you put your chips on the table and tell the stickman what you want to bet.

YOU will learn very quickly where your money goes.
You will watch it like a hawk.
Your position at the table has a position on the number.
HE knows,,, You will learn quickly.
12.00 ,,, 6 %26amp; 8
15.00 ,,,10
when you play the pass line on ';come out';, put a dollar on CRAPS
for every 5 dollars on the line.---- Cheap insurance
1$ pays 7 $.
Better yet,,, dont play pass line, odds not in your favor.
If a young, innocent girl rolls, go for it.
The above applies to most bets except PASS and Don%26#39;t PASS
those you place them yourself, right infront of yourself.
If you win the stickman will put the winning chips next to your original bet.
jas, it%26#39;s your responsibility to watch your own $. The dealer is not responsible.
If your question is, where to physically put your bets...
the simple answer is... directly if front of you on the table...
for the pass line- straight in front of where you are standing .
for place bets, same thing, place the $ on the table in front of you and tell the dealer what numbers and how mauch you want to place.... if the dealer does not pick up your $... voice your desired bets until the dealer says ';BET';...
The dealers know where to place your other bets based on where you are standing, your position ';number';, at the table..
if you win any bet or get change back, the dealer will place your $ on the table in front of you....it%26#39;s your responsibility to pick up your $..
the stickman is only to take the ';center'; action bets..hardways,horn,hopping
Pass line and odds bets stay in front of you. Come bets and place bets will be put on the number that the point is, in the place that is your position at the table. Prop bets are placed in the prop bet area in your position on the table, as is the no pass bet.
You really need to get some experience on a table to understand how it works. Thats part of the fun!
Understanding the basics before you start playing helps a lot. Many of the casinos offer craps lessons. Most are in the morning or early PM. I know I%26#39;ve found listings of these both online and in Vegas before. Try to hit one of these before you play. They%26#39;ll teach you what to do and some simple bets.
Check out an online site like naturalshooter.com for the rules of the game; helps to have some idea of what%26#39;s going on before you start. There are also a number of threads here that talk about the basics; you could search for them.
Lastly, I would start out playing some place with low limits and a relaxed atmosphere before I headed to the higher stakes tables. Craps players can be superstitious and can get grumpy if you drop in and don%26#39;t know what you are doing. Unless you are a woman; female ';virgins'; are supposed to be lucky.
Learn the basics and then go have fun. It%26#39;s a great game.
woodpecker - I guess you%26#39;re correct that the odds are against you betting the pass line; please let us know what to play where the odds are in our favor. j/k
Simple rule of thumb in craps: the worst bets on the table have the biggest areas designated for them. As an example, there is no spot designated for the ';odds'; bets.
