Seven days from right now hubby %26amp; I will be inflight from Newark Airport to LV. Stayng at the MGM for 7 days. It%26#39;s our first vacation since 1998 when we went to the Atlantis on Paradise Island.
I have mentally packed and repacked at least 10 times. I have all my computer print outs of the places I want to visit and tickets for the shows we are going to see.
So exicited I can barely concentrate at work....on this site 2-3 times a day attempting to find out new information and new web sites to make our trip easier.
We originally booked the shuttle to go back and forth but now discover that since we are meeting my brother in law on Sat in AZ we are going to need a car. We did not reserve one- should we? or would it be better to just wait until we get there? (I can%26#39;t beleive we are going to miss a Saturday night in Vegas to see his brother who was just here in NY)
Any input on the rental car????? thanks

Hi Maggie-
That%26#39;s my favorite Rod Stewart song!
I definitely recommend booking a car in advance on-line. In my experience, which is limited to three rentals, Dollar has the best rates of the name-brand companies. You%26#39;re likely to pay a much higher rate if you just walk in and ask for a car. Dollar also has a location in the MGM lobby, so you can return it there instead of the airport if you want. I hope you go and have a great time! If you%26#39;ve been reading here lately, you%26#39;ll know that I%26#39;m one of the more enthusiastic MGM backers. Lowrance is probably typing at the same time I am!

Hope you will enjoy your vacation. God knows you guys deserve it.
I agree dollar usually has the lowest rates. And book NOW
when you go online and book, at the last stage of your online booking, they will recommend an upgrade (lets say from mid size to a full size) for few dollars more. I usually take that, if I am going to drive outside the vegas.
But if you are going to drive only in vegas, from a hotel to a hotel, you won%26#39;t need a bigger and better car.
Just to make sure about the rates, try the others also (Budget and enterprise. hertz is usually the most expencive one)
Strip- that is my favorite Rod Stewart song also...has been since it came out...has always been my signature name too.
Will follow up with the rental cars in the am when I can sit and plan it all out for sure. Thanks to both of you for the advice.
It%26#39;s funny- I%26#39;m sitting here thinking of what I%26#39;ll be doing this time next week....sitting in the sports bar watching the NIT from here in NY hoping (and hubby betting) that UNC will win!
opps - this is me - maggiemay- different name on this computer---sorry for any confusion
