Heya all,
I am goin out to Vegas Jan 24%26#39;th for 8 nights.
I just did a search on the Monte Carlo and got a rate of $1350 for 8 nights for 2 people/2 Queens..............and $1550 for 8 nights with 2 Queens..............
I am sure lots of people have done this but i just wanted to check. Have any of you told the front desk (when checkin in) that there are 2 of you when in fact there are 3 of you (or more)????
Why they want an extra 200 bucks for an extra person is beyond me!!!
Avoiding Surcharge for third person in room.................
the $1550 part was for 3 people, didnt type that bit :)
Avoiding Surcharge for third person in room.................
$25 a night to cover, laundry, water, towels, housekeeping, and because they can.
They want the extra for the towels, water, wear and tear on the room. And please, anybody, don%26#39;t tell me they make up for it in what person number 3 spends in food, drink and gambling.
It%26#39;s a business and businesses are there to make money. That%26#39;s something some people on this forum have a problem with, especially if it is going to come from their pocket.
Nick not being rude but would you not seriously consider getting 2 rooms.
You are on vacation and while I dont know if you have kids as of yet ,one of the main attractions of a vacation for us is the chance to have some quality time alone for some noisy s£x.
Anyone with kids will know about the silent orga$m,
(I am sure our kids have a pact where they ensure we are never alone in the house for more than 5 mins)
Cut back on costs elsewhere but get 2 rooms,
2 women 1 bathroom, not going to work for 8 days
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!
This site is unbelieveable......I have NEVER known a forum like it.
Can anyone ask a question and get answers on this particular forum without %26#39;statements%26#39; in reply.
Danam - thanks for comments about towels, very informative - you really helped with the question.
Other poster - thanks for friendly post dude but yes I am sure about it................remember that what is good for one person is not for another - thats what makes the world so interesting!
Anyway...................back to question, if anyone can give an answer to it I would be very grateful..
Thanks all. Nick
no, i have never lied to the front desk.
it may be beyind you to understand why they charge ';extra';, so what? they do. period.
just because you don%26#39;t understand the rates it doesn%26#39;t mean you can lie to avoid paying the rate.
Did it recently at the Hawthorn Suites, never said there were 3 of us when there were only supposed to be 2 - no problem at all. I stayed alone at Sahara the same trip and could%26#39;ve done it there also the places are that big does anyone really check?
Hi nick
Four of us stayed at the Flamingo and there was no increase in price.
Booked online don%26#39;t know if that makes a difference.
Is that price just for the room? It seems very expensive??
mpo
I did it for one night At the Fitz, said there were 2, there were 3. It was one night though. Do you want to be looking over your shoulder for 8 nights? Housekeeping in many places (not sure about MC) are given a list each day for the rooms they service and the list contains the number of occupants, specifically so a housekeeper knows how many towels and amenities to leave in the room. The housekeeping staff is supposed to report back to someone if there is evidence of extra people or person in the room.
Personally, although I too would certainly enjoy a savings of 200 bucks, my peace of mind would be more important to me.
Stjamesjoy - thanks dude, appreciate the advice!!! I didnt think it was a big deal or anything and I%26#39;m pretty sure most people probably do it to save a few bucks.........just wanted to check :) Thanks again!!!
Mpo8000 - That sounds cool, surprised that they didnt charge more for 4 in a room so I might check them out. As for rates, thats surprisingly the best deal I have found so far for 4 star type level on strip....................I wont be booking until the January offers come in though - maybe first week into December or so. There is a fairly big conference for part of the time we are there though so that is not helping (80,000 people). So far, most of the promos, etc are for November and December - a few go into the first week on January but very few past that point in time yet.
