Looking for a good hotel for three friends to stay at -- larger room, three beds, maybe a suite . . . and of course, not too, too expensive. We%26#39;re from Ottawa, Canada. Appreciate any advice you can offer.
Accommodations for three friends
venetian - with 2 queen beds and sofabed if 2 can%26#39;t sleep in same bed. the extra living room area and large bathroom will be a plus. check the website for best rate dates - can be high depending on dates. others i%26#39;m sure will have other ideas, i usually stay at The V and know this will suit you perfectly. great location, good food choices from cheap to value to ';fine dining';
Accommodations for three friends
Another option, depending on the time of year you are going, is a suite at the Mirage. The suites there can be very affordable and it%26#39;s a great hotel with some great restaurants and nightlife.
Rio has very large nice rooms, very comfortable with more than 2 people. Rates vary widely depending on demand. $65 very slow times, to $150 other times, to over $200 if low vacancy
Rio has nice clubs and restaurants, and a lot of rooms that offer 2 queens and a sofabed. The room is big enough for couch and coffee table at the end of the beds, and the whole outer wall is windows
it has a refrig. to assist your partying, and is next to Palms, 1km off strip with free shuttles
Two adjoing rooms on strip could also be a good plan, if your travel dates coincide with no conventions, and rates are moderate
Check TI, Luxor, Ballys, Harrahs,MonteCarlo, MGM, for reasonable rates and good quality
Stratosphere is cheap , you could afford 3 rooms, quality is just acceptable, the walk is 2+km to mid strip
THEhotel at Mandalay Bay is your answer.
All of the rooms are one-bedroom, 1.5 bath, ';residential-quality'; suites. Get one with two queens in the bedroom, and the sofa in the living room pulls out into a bed (although it is plenty comfortable to sleep on for one person without the bed).
They have several flat screen hi-def TVs in each unit, a wet bar, nice seating and desk area, and huge bath with separate shower and bath fixtures and enclosed toilet ';room';. They will offer far more overall privacy and livability than just the large one-room ';suites'; at either Rio or Venetian.
Jim - when are you going to Vegas? Are you going during the week or over the weekend?
While the Venetian is a ';good deal'; if you can get it for $149 or $179 per night during the slow times of the year Sunday thru Thursday, I still don%26#39;t think that qualifies as ';not too expensive';.
Mandalay Bay is also expensive and I don%26#39;t care for it%26#39;s location.
Check out the Rio. Some of their midweek dates during the week (during slow times in Vegas) can be as low as $49. They%26#39;re off the strip, but have a free shuttle to the strip.
I don%26#39;t know of any rooms in Vegas with three beds. With a standard room you can get a roll away. Most suites have a pull out couch.
When do you plan to go, how many days, and what is your per night price range on a room?
Thanks to you all for your suggestions -- really appreciated. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but I forgot about this site and only got one reminder about a response being posted -- last month.
In answer to some questions that were asked, we%26#39;re flexible on the time frame and think that $150US would be a reasonable amount to pay.
When the time comes, we%26#39;ll definitely look into your suggestions.
I echo the recommendation of the Rio. The other properties mentioned are very nice but no reasonable person would classify them as ';not too expensive.';
Myself and two friends stayed at Bally%26#39;s on 11/09 and the room was very roomy and we got a roll-away bed for the 3rd person. Worked out perfect and a great center strip location.
