6 of us ';girls'; celebrating our 50%26#39;th birthdays!
Flight: From San Jose to LV - on US Air (booked vacation package through vegas.com. ) Arrived Sat morning at 10:30. Checked into MGM hotel at airport. 3 of the 4 rooms were ready - yay! Long taxi line - took about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes for 2 taxi%26#39;s to MGM (less than $10 per cab ).
Hotel: All rooms on the 9th floor - some views better than others. Rooms were fairly large and clean. HUGE hotel, but by the time we left we knew our way around. Shopped in Rainforest Cafe store and MGM Studio Store (on the Studio Walkway). We liked the hotel - lots to see and do. Joined MGM Players Club and I was able to get 2 free buffets for breakfast by Monday. Also received check for $20. cash. I joined as soon as we arrived - none of the other girls gamble as much as I, so they didn%26#39;t have enough points for any comps.
Food: We walked to the Aladdin - Desert Passage - for lunch and ate at a cute Cheeseburger restaurant with Hawaiian theme. We all enjoyed excellent Mai Tais. Food was good and not expensive. We also did some shopping there. We then walked to some of the hotels nearby and back to the MGM. Got ready for dinner that night (at least they did - I gambled!!) - reservations at Canaletto%26#39;s at the Venetian. Our table was ready when we arrived at 7:30 - ate ';outside';. Excellent service - excellent dinner on St. Mark%26#39;s Square. One of my Italian friends said it was the best Risotto she had ever eaten. Did a little more gambling - had some drinks - and back to the MGM (to bed for 4 of the girls - and gambling for 2 of us!)
We had reservations for LOVE at the Mirage Sun night at 10:30. Had dinner reservations for Kokomos in the Mirage. Excellent food and when we mentioned it was our birthdays - we received 3 beautiful desserts ';on the house.'; Pricey menu - but the food was really good. All of us had various seafood dishes (halibut, salmon, sea bass).
Show: Saw LOVE and loved it! Of course, we grew up with The Beatles! Had great seats.
Gambling: Won $150. at The Mirage on $.25 slots. Won $300. at MGM on $.25 slots. Won $250. at the airport on $.25 slots!
Flight Home: Had 4:00 p.m. flight on Monday. Got to the airport at 3:00. Long security lines. I had forgotten that I bought small bottles of lotion and some cuticle oil. Searched my carry-on bags and threw all of them out :(. Checked into US Air - and then the announcement came. Flight was cancelled due to weather (can%26#39;t quite figure out why - it was raining in SJ but nothing terrible) .... They were able to re-book 4 of us on a 9:00 flight to SJ. The other 2 took a 7:00 flight to Phoenix - had a 2 hr layover - and finally landed in SJ about 11:45 p.m.
All in all, a great trip! Not much sleep, but we saw nearly every hotel, shopped in nearly every store, and gambled at nearly every casino! Fun, fun, fun - a Disneyland for Adults!

Great trip report! Sounds like a blast. Happy birthday!
Thanks for the TR! Sounds like you did great on gambling, you didn%26#39;t mention any losses. The only sad thing is the shortness of the trip!
