Anyone heard of these, made by American Tourister? They have infomercials, but Walgreens carry them in-store and online. We are considering using them to conserve space inside our luggage, but wonder if others have used them in the past...
Space Bags??
most of them require a vacuum. we have some of them and they work okay for us. we do have a few that are the squeeze kind that allows you to squeeze the air out. we usually will take one of them on a trip and put dirty clothes in them. they reduce the space a little bit, but not a ton.
Space Bags??
I love space bags. I use them whenever I travel. I disagree with the other poster, I think they save a lot of room. Plus, I find that my clothes get less wrinkled when I use them.
I have used them. Got them at Walreens or some such place. I have also seen really big ziplocks.advertised. Same thing. I push the air out then seal. If they hold the air out until I get the case shut there is no way for them to ';reinflate after it si shut. They work ok without a vacumn. I also use smaller gallon sized ziplocks for small items like underwear and socks.
They are clear and the TSA likes them because they are easy to check.
Also very good to keep things organized. Worst case, a lot of bags rather than individual items will spillout of a broken suitcase.
After my pets deceided that they are fun to play with and mine are full of holes, I need to replace mine and will do it if I can find them on sale.
Good to know that they don%26#39;t wrinkle. I%26#39;ve been curious, but just couldn%26#39;t see how the clothes would not be wrinkled when squished down. Maybe I%26#39;ll have to try them.
Lmao chitown. When I read ';After my pets'; I thought you were going to say it%26#39;s a good way to get a larger dog to the vet! LOL
I agree with StarBelly! Space Bags have made a big difference in packing space for me on long trips. Make sure to get the travel ones (which do not require a vacuum). I also agree that it prevents excessive wrinkling. I also like them because I can seperate out items; shirts in one, undergarments in another, etc.
I say; buy them and try them! It%26#39;s worth trying.
Trust the man who travels with tte Tux.
Wrinkles are caused by friction. If you fold your stuff while it is in the bags from the cleaners, no hanger and one item to a bag, you lessen the cloth to cloth friction as the plastic folds over plastic and thus less wrinkles.
Lowrance - sorrry No dogs were placed in plastic bags for this post..
I have to agree wit chitown,
I layer with drycleaner bags every item, then when you shut your case it like fuse%26#39;s together and no wrinckles.
Then on the way back I put the dirty clothes in the bags not to
come into contact with others. Very easy and cheap.
easy and cheap works for me.
