My husband, our three kids (age 26, 23 and 21) and I will be arriving in Las Vegas sometime on Dec. 31. and leaving on January 2nd. We have reservations at the Orleans Hotel and we will have a car. (We are from Canada and this is a first time trip to Vegas). We are looking for a good time but we have no idea what we are getting into. We hope to fhave fun New years eve and want to also be busy New years day - maybe a good meal and a show. I am concerned about parking (I understand the Orleans is quite a ways from the strip) Also do I have to prebook? or will we be able to find fun things to do on the go?
Thanks
New Years Eve and day in Vegas
You are going at a very busy time of the year. If you want to eat at a certain restaurant or see a certain show- book as soon as possible. Prices will be sky high. The strip is closed to traffic late afternoon on NYE. Even some ramps are closed. It fills up with people to the point they you will not be able to move on your own-the crowd will move you along. There are fireworks up and down the strip. Some casinos won%26#39;t let you in unless you are staying there. Some of the casinos have parties by they are by invitation only. Getting away from the strip will take a while after midnight. If you have ever seen Times Square (NY) on NYE you have a good idea what it will be like. I did it once, and I never did it again. Again=-book as soon as possible!
