I%26#39;m headed to Vegas with my wife for the first time on Sunday. We%26#39;re staying in a tower deluxe room at Luxor, renting a car, and coming home on Thursday (Thanksgiving).
We have some toursity plans: Penn %26amp; Teller, Red Rock Canyon, casino hopping, but I have a few questions (we%26#39;re trying to get off the beaten path for some of our trip):
1. Are the slots at Luxor really as tight as I have read?
2. Does anyone know how busy the Tuesday @ Midnight $62 buy-in poker tourney @ Luxor is? What%26#39;s the prize pool?
3. Do you know of a better late night poker tourney on the south strip?
4. Is the Paymon%26#39;s Hookah Lounge near UNLV on Maryland Pkwy worth the trip?
5. What are the better locals casinos that a first-timer would feel comfortable playing some table games?
6. Does anyone have a great idea for an off-strip, out of the way, not too expensive, romantic restaurant that is popular with locals?
1st trip to Vegas this weekend 11/19-23

jaspa have fun!
i stayed at the luxor a month ago and had a great time.
the slots weren%26#39;t too tight for me at least. i am a low-roller who only plays slots and i won a $100. i stuck with the quarter slots. jackpot party slots were the best for me.
sorry don%26#39;t know the answers to any other questions
Save your bucks and skip Penn and Teller. Most of their stuff has been on TV for years. Just recycled bits. Had a better time seeing Blue Man Group but that%26#39;s probably too expensive for you at $100+.
Maybe I%26#39;m just ';too smart'; for P and T and need to be dazzled in other ways.
