Which hotel?

I am looking to book to go to Vegas next September. I have not been before and all I have heard is to be central on the strip.

I normally stay in 5 star hotels but would consider min 3 star in Vegas as to honest, don%26#39;t think will be in it very much! Would like a nice pool etc though!

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel central location for me?

Which hotel?

Bellagio would be best if you are used to nice hotels and want a good central location and pool but if you can%26#39;t afford it then Mirage may be a better fit, the rooms aren%26#39;t as nice or a big as Bellagio but the pool area is great and the prices are usually pretty good for what you get. I%26#39;d suggest Paris but most people complain about the pool area there.

Which hotel?

First trip in LV we stayed at the MGM Grand (then the largest hotel in the world). At the time Luxor, Monte Carlo had opened and the south end of the strip was exciting with NYNY about to open soon.

We soon discovered the downside in staying at the worlds largest hotel. It takes half an hour to leave the hotel.

As you walk up, you end up gawping at all the other hotels. By the time you reach Caesars you are tired and its time to get back to the hotel.

Next time around we stayed more central and stayed at the Paris. Other hotels we considered was Aladdin, Caesars, and Venice.

Bellagio and Wynn we thought was a bit too pricey.

It may end up as to what deal your travel agent can get for you.

On no account book through a travel agent

99.99% of posters on this site will tell you to book directly through the hotel.

Early sept in a slow(relatively speaking )time in Vegas.

Hotel rooms that are now $249 will go ror $149 nearer the time.

Book 1 or 2 hotels that take your fancy,(most will charge you 1 night, refundabe if you cancel 48/72 hrs in advance.)

If the rate goes down or you get e-mail offers, you can ring the hotel and get the lower rate.

If you book with a travel agent you are locked into hotel and rate.

Explore all the options, ask questons on this site and make an informed decision.

Hello,

I%26#39;ve never stayed but you may want to consider either the Flamingo or Mirage. They are both pretty central to the strip.

From my research, on this website, cheapovegas.com %26amp; travel books it seems as though those two hotels have great pools. The Flamingo may be the most reasonably priced option with a pretty good pool. Check out the reviews for the hotels on this website - should give you a pretty good feel for the hotel. Cheapovegas.com is a pretty good site for info including pools as well as entertaining read.

The Bellagio is fantastic %26amp; if you are going through the week, you may be able to get a deal. The pools (there are 6) are amazing. My personal choice would always be the Bellagio whenever the deal is right.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Hi there

For sure for your first visit and from what you already say about normally staying in 5* hotels you should stay in Bellagio. It has the perfect location, centre strip, perfect situation. We have stayed there twice and are returning again in Feb/March as we are getting much better deals now we have stayed there before. I agree most definately with previous posters about booking direct with the hotel, the rate you book now may go up or down, if it goes down they will honour that rate, agents will not.

The Wynn is also another hotel I would love to stay in one day, it does not have the same location as the Bellagio however it is also a beautiful hotel.

You also mention you would like a nice pool, I can highly recommend the Bellagio for this, it is in a beautiful setting and I would recommend booking a cabana, you can do this with their concierge service.

Have a lovely time

Loopy

I guess it would depend on if you traveling alone or with a significant other.

I%26#39;d suggest Caesars Palace Augustus Towers. There are 4 or 5 pools at Caesars (one topless), plus there are plenty of places to eat, and with the Forum shops, plenty of shopping too!

Perfect central location on the strip.

Have Fun!
