Flying Heathrow to LV via Chicago 21.Nov

Hi.

We are going to Vegas for first time next Tues. Flying with United Airlines. Are they OK? Do they have tv%26#39;s on the back of the seats? I Know its not that important but just wondered.

I used United last time i went to Vegas - got bumped up to Business Class on first leg of vacation (NY) so I have always liked them because of that, lol.

The leg room isnt as good as AA but who is.......we felt a bit cramped coming home but we were flying from Honolulu and to be fair all fligths are probably uncomfortable when flying so far unless you go business class upwards.

I found them really friendly and liked them - I cannot remember about the screens though?! I would think so though on a long haul flight - i was under the impression that all the airlines had them now!

I think they use 777%26#39;s on there long haul flights as alot of the US airlines tend to do.........this probably means you will get a seating configuration of 2-5-2 so good for couples not wanting to sit with others!

Palm - just had an idea for ya. Have you been on United%26#39;s website as it probably tells you what planes they have in fleet and seating configuration, facilities, etc, etc..............I know Virgin do this as I have checked everything out ready for Jan (as I am too excited, lol)...

Give it a go and see what website says - also, make sure you pre book seats before goin to airport, ie - on web or telephone, etc.

One thing to remember. You don%26#39;t get much time to change planes in Chicago!!

We flew with them last year and had 1.5 hours to get off the plane and get to the next one. It sounds a lot, but believe me it isn%26#39;t. By the time you actually get off the plane, so through security and get to the next gate, it can be a struggle.

They were calling our names out; ';this is the last call for......'; Very embarrassing and we weren%26#39;t dawdling or anything!!!

Nothing wrong with them at all, just be aware of the time it takes to change planes.

Nickdolphins - have got tickets with seat numbers already on so will check when I get home. Am supposed to be working at mo!!

Jar - I did read something about this problem a while back. I will check to see what the connection times are. What happens if you miss the flight? Do you have to pay again.

palm - if you miss a flight then you dont have to repay so dont panic :) They will put you on the %26#39;next available flight%26#39;...........

Hello from Chicago here...

I just wanted to add that 21 November is two days before U.S. Thanksgiving. It is likely that O%26#39;Hare will be much busier than a ';normal'; Tuesday, which is traditionally the slowest day of the week for air traffic loads. You can expect long security lines in United%26#39;s Terminal One. I believe Nick is right about the 777 fleet having TVs. From ORD to LAS you%26#39;ll be on a ';Ted'; plane, all Airbus A320s, and they have fold-down LCD screens about every 4-5 rows or so. There%26#39;s usually a movie and/or U.S. network tv shows on those flights. Non-alcoholic drinks are free, snacks are available for a fee. I hope your connection goes smoothly!

Check the weather at chicago before you leave home so you are not surprised by a lengthly delay due too snow storm.

Have been on UA site as you suggested and found where we sitting, very pleased with seats so will try not to too upset if anything goes wrong with connections. Staying at Luxor so bit worried about the reviews but keeping open mind!!

As for reviews - take these with a pinch of salt..........my parents stayed there in a Tower Room and thought it was gorgeous, I think other people on this site have way higher expectations than myself or some others - you will love it and have an awsome time........all the best and have fun!!!
