Hey everyone...the countdown is on...we leave for the airport in 12 hours!!
We are planning a diversion out to Red Rock Canyon, and I%26#39;m looking for the quickest and/or safest way from Luxor to 159 to get out there. Should I just get up to Charleston and go, or perhaps take Tropicana up and around the golf courses? I am more concerned with my trip back to the Strip because it will probably be dark.
Any help will be appreciated. The wait is over!!!

Quickest/Safest way from Luxor to 159 (headed to Red Rock)
Bump...
Anyone? Leaving tomorrow morning very early and could use some expert advice.
Quickest/Safest way from Luxor to 159 (headed to Red Rock)
Sorry Jaspa, never been there. Try asking at the Hotel. They should be able to help you.
Turn right as you exit the hotel, heading South on the Strip. turn right at Russell Road, just past the Mandalay Bay. Get on I-15 heading South. At the I-215 Beltway interchange, take the Westbound ramp toward Decatur Blvd. Exit at Charleston, and turn left. Red Rock will be about 5 more miles on your right.
If it%26#39;s dark when you return, there is an alternate route with a better night time view of the Valley, and its about the same mileage anyway. When you come back down Charleston and get to the Beltway, head North (over the freeway and turn left before the Best Buy). Follow the Beltway until you get to the Summerlin Parkway, and turn right. There is a traffic light at this intersection. From here, you can see the whole valley below you. Summerlin Parkway will lead you, after about 5 miles, to I-95 South. Stay in the left lane for the correct ramp. Follow I-95 another 5 miles or so until the I-15 interchange, where you will head south. Exit at Tropicana.
i agree with mp ,
there is good map of area in free mag.'; whats on';
I agree with mposin. The 215 beltway has the least traffic (if not going during rush hour). The only thing with the I-95 is there is construction going on so expect delays from Summerlin Parkway to I-95 if you are travelling back from Red Rock. Our place is west of the 215 on Charleston, so we know the area. My husband works near Craig and travels that route everyday. Have a great time.
